John Thigpen was born in Macon, Georgia, and moved to Asheville, North Carolina at the age of 10. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, and returned to Asheville to work for a regional accounting fim. He achieved Certified Public Accountant status in North Carolina in 1979.
He has served in senior financial management positions for several textile companies. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer of two Professional Employer Organizations, in Charlotte, North Carolina and Clearwater, Florida. He is also part-owner and worked as Chief Financial Officer for Pantheon Guitars, LLC of Lewiston, Maine.
In January, 2007, wishing to return to the Carolinas from Florida, he bought Alliance Consulting Group of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and renamed it John Thigpen CPA, LLC after obtaining his Certified Public Accountant status from the State of South Carolina.
John is married and has two young sons.
STAFF MEMBERS:
Theresa "TC" Catoe has worked in public accounting for 30 years, and has worked for the same accounting firm (through several ownership changes) since 1991. Her specialty is business clients, and she provides monthly accounting services and prepares corporate and partnership tax returns.
Cristy Clack has been with the firm for six years, and provides monthly write-up services, payroll processing, quarterly payroll tax returns, and individual tax returns.
